Position Available: Cabin/Serving Staff, hiring at least two

Dates: Saturday, June 25th (or earlier) to Wednesday, August 31st, 2022. Start and end dates are negotiable. Transportation to and from the island is provided at the beginning and end of summer. Room and board included.

Salary: We will train you! An enjoyment of the outdoors is necessary. A valid Ontario Boaters card is beneficial. Smart Serve for staff over 18 is required. The fees will be reimbursed upon completion and proof of Smart Serve or the Boater’s Card.

Description: Assigned duties will change weekly. Some weeks will be spent cleaning and making over guest cabins, other weeks; you will be serving in the dining room. Doing dishes, and cleaning the common areas, including the shower house, bathrooms, dining room, and the Ojibway Lodge, are part of the job. There will be other tasks outside of the regular duties when it isn’t busy. At the beginning of the season, there will be jobs like raking, grass cutting and collecting downed trees and branches, and painting… there is always something to paint! We want you to enjoy being on Lake Temagami, which means we try to accomplish the work in the morning to allow you time to enjoy your surroundings in the afternoon.

Wifi is available on the Ojibway dock and in the dining room area… cell reception does not reach us yet. Our wifi is not speedy; please do not expect to stream and download music, television shows, or movies to watch. Please bring a device with your summer entertainment already downloaded. The wifi at Ojibway is necessary for conducting business, and a slowdown of the system is problematic.

There are laundry facilities on the island, and all amenities are available for the staff (e.g. swimming areas, canoes, kayaks, paddleboards, tennis courts).

Please e-mail a letter of application (detailing what interests you about the position, what experience and skills you possess and what you would look forward to the most about working at Ojibway Family Lodge) and a resume.
